‘The Saints’ get their first win of the year!

This week saw the both the A League and B League school football teams, ‘The Saints’, get their first win of this year’s tournament.

You can read the 2 match reports below:

🏟️ St Peter & St Paul vs Hugh Myddelton. Report by Ava and Emilia:

We think our first match in the B league was absolutely amazing. Both teams did a fantastic job because they both had communication with their team mates and they showed good sports person-ship towards each other. The final score was a winning 4-2 to us, with Teddy scoring a hattrick – well done Teddy! Jacob did a great job at saving lots of goals too. In the second half, Eady (who usually plays in goal) scored an awesome goal, taking us to the final whistle – good job Eady! We think we need to improve with our positions and keeping our eyes on the ball because we saw some people getting confused with our formation. Some of us played in positions that we’re not used to, but it shows how well we work together as a team because we won. We think that The Saints can bring it home this year.

🏟️ St Peter & St Paul vs Prior Western. Report by Ryan and Lenny:

We started the game very well, Tyler scored a beautifully perfected goal and put us 1-0 up. Everyone loved Tyler and Lenny’s celebration! Then Brian played a great ball to Alfie but we lost the ball and they scored to make it 1-1 which shocked our team ☹ When it was halftime Coach Sam and Miss Bessant heated us up and then we went into the second half feeling good. Lenny made some good saves and then towards the end they scored once again to make the score 2-1, with 1 minute left. 30 seconds later and, Brian made a fantastic cross that fell to Alfie and from an angle he scored which had our whole team celebrating and then the match ended and the score was 2-2. A great match!

Next week the teams have a break from matches, but will have a training session in school.
