Mission Statement

Love one another

“I am giving you a new rule for living – love one another”

St Peter and St Paul is a thriving Catholic primary school in the heart of multi-cultural Islington, London. We work hard to deliver outstanding spiritual, moral and learning success with artistic and intellectual abilities for our diverse range of pupils. Our code of ethics is firmly rooted in Gospel values and worship, supported by strong leadership and excellent teaching in a vibrant and friendly school. We actively encourage pupils throughout their learning journey to feel safe, secure and valued in an atmosphere of mutual love and respect. Our mission statement is simple: ‘Love one another’ and we ask that the children follow the values of the school which are Love, Truth, Forgiveness, Giving and Understanding.

Aim

We realise how important it is that our pupils benefit from, and contribute to, a high calibre Catholic education. We want our children to be happy in their faith and use their social and academic skills to enrich their own lives, plus that of their families and the wider community. To ensure that each child reaches their full potential, we regularly review and evaluate the achievements of our pupils and the school as a whole.

Catholic life in school

Every child is a unique creation of God. We actively encourage each child to reach their full potential by developing the Catholic faith, where each child feels cherished for their unique personal worth. Working closely together, we want to inspire and nurture every child within a happy, secure and stimulating, inclusive environment.

Our Catholic centred learning environment offers a broad and balanced curriculum where every child can feel secure and confident. We place much emphasis on self-confidence and self-esteem, so we nurture each pupil to become independent learners and always ready to face new challenges. Our aim is to instill a lifelong genuine love of learning and an aspiration for outstanding, personal achievement.

Our school prayer

Almighty God,
We give you, our school.
We give you all the teachers and staff who work here.
We give you all the children who focus and learn here as well.
We pray that our school will be a place of great discovery, adventure and creativity.
We thank you for giving us everything that we need through our school journey.
May it be a place where we love to learn and we learn to love others and ourselves.
A place where everyone is respected for who they are and all are deeply valued for the precious life they are,
worthy of everything that comes in their path.
We ask all this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
