The school office is open from 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday-Friday during term time, or you can email parentsupport@stpetersandstpauls.islington.sch.uk with any query or to request for a teacher appointment.
There are a number of other ways we keep in touch with families across the year.
- Class teachers send out a termly curriculum overview detailing topic plans and upload this to the school website.
- Every year group uses Google Classroom – your child will have their own log in – and this is where you can see progress and homework.
- All parents are invited to log into Classlist, which is our online communication platform.
- A weekly newsletter is sent out by the Headteacher via Classlist to all parents which includes forthcoming dates and events. It is very important to read this each week as any changes to diary dates or extra activities will be highlighted. The newsletter is also uploaded each week to the website and hard copies are available from the school office.
- Parents will be invited to make an appointment to meet their child’s class teacher to discuss work and progress. This happens each term. Appointments may, of course, be made at any time if you are concerned about your child.
Events for Parents
There are also many opportunities throughout the year to be part of our school community.
- Each term you will be invited to your child’s class assembly.
- We hold a monthly Prayer Service in Mary Garden on the first Friday of each month at 9.30am – you are very welcome.
- You will be invited to celebrate Christmas, Easter and the end of the year with us.
- Sports Day is a wonderful event which all the children take part in. It is held in the second half of the Summer Term. Parents are warmly welcomed to come and watch.
- There are many volunteering opportunities within our school – you are welcome to volunteer for our many school trips, to help our green team or our gardening club. We also appreciate help with reading, breakfast and after school clubs – please ask Maria in the office for more information.
Parent and Teacher Association
The PA exists primarily to organise social functions for children and parents. Through some of its events, the Parents’ Association raises funds for additional resources or activities that are not provided in the curriculum. All parents are members of the association and are welcome to attend the meetings and functions. You will be notified when the next meeting or function will be by message or email. New parents are welcome to contact members of the committee with a view to joining the committee or simply offering help at events. Details of the PA can be found on Classlist.
Class Representatives
In each of the class, one or two parents can volunteer to act as parent representatives. These are shown on Classlist.
