Our recent trip to The Science Museum

Year 5 had an exciting trip to the IMAX. They have been learning about the Earth in space this term. They were beautifully behaved had a great time.

Have a read of this specially written report about the trip by Sienna and Nala-Star:

On Monday we went to visit the Science Museum to watch a cool film about Space called ‘A Beautiful Planet.’ We wore special glasses because the film was in 3D so we felt like we were actually in Space. In the film, we got to see planet Earth from Space and how the planet looks at night. We even got to see what storms look like from Space!

We learnt that astronauts can’t stay in Space for too long and that there might be life in another Galaxy that has a planet similar to Earth. I’d love to go again; it was so fun.

Every year we get the opportunity to work with Institute of Imagination on various projects that always enhance the curriculum and give the children an opportunity to work with different industries. In July, our then Year 5 took part in a workshop with the Institute of Imagination. They had to create characters from junk and then made movies about their characters saving the earth from pollution. It was all to highlight the importance of the circular economy and the idea of Save, Make, Reinvent.

We also visited Camley Street Nature Park to support our learning in Science. In
the park we hunted for mini beasts, did pond dipping and classified different animals using a classification key.

I’m an SEN Ta and have worked in the school since 2019. My job is so rewarding and knowing I’m making a difference in a child’s life gives reasons to smile. Outside of work I’m in full mum mode, taking my kids to their extracurricular activities. I’m quite creative and if I’m not doing a course learning new skills, I’m a complete book worm reading business strategy books.
