What a lovely start to the year …
The children are settling in beautifully, and making new friends.
The teachers and children have created ‘classroom rules’ together, and everyone is trying really hard to follow everything we agreed. 🙂
Also, on the first week of the school we had 100% attendance. Well done, keep up the good work!
We have read many lovely stories, revised some phonics and numbers, and learnt new sounds.
We explored our beautiful world and the children enjoyed watching ‘stories from the Bible’ about the creation of the world. This is also great opportunity to explore different continents, learn about different cultures, climates, plants, animals and different food. We will continue to learn how we can contribute in making this world better place for everyone.
How can you best support your child’s learning?
The most important activity for your child at this stage is reading books. Please read books to your child every evening before the bedtime and talk about it. Ask questions about the story and the characters. Use questions like why, what, how and where? You could ask ‘how did the character in the story feel and how would you feel if that happened to you?’. Talk about the days and months of the week, seasons, weather and calendar. You could ask your child to count different objects and to match them by size, colour or shape. All conversation helps with them to understand what they are reading.
Online safety is very important, so please limit screen time and make sure you know what your child is watching.
